Toyota Fleet Management (TFM) recently held a series of national roadshow events aimed at helping fleet managers navigate the many changes affecting the industry while ensuring they and their business are 'future ready'.
Held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth throughout March and April, the Future Ready Roadshows presented attendees with critical information about upcoming changes to compliance, regulation and lease accounting standards, TFM's innovative new fleet management products and Toyota's leading role in driving the future of mobility.
Speakers included TFM general manager Ed Stanistreet, other members of the senior management team and leading accounting and advisory experts. The final event in Sydney featured a presentation from Nine Network business and finance editor Ross Greenwood, who also chaired a panel discussion on the upcoming changes to lease accounting standards.
Mr Stanistreet said the roadshows achieved their aim of informing the audience of a number of upcoming regulatory changes and their likely impact on their businesses while giving them a clear understanding of the many ways in which Toyota and Toyota Fleet Management are leading the way in preparing for the future.
"We take every opportunity we can to speak directly with our customers as it's the best way to nurture long-term relationships and deliver on our vision of being the most trusted fleet management organisation," Mr Stanistreet said.
"Toyota Fleet Management is determined to stay ahead of the game by offering quality products and services that prepare our customers for the future while helping to make their working lives easier.
"Our industry and customer surveys show that Toyota Fleet Management is highly regarded as a leader and trusted fleet manager, and we've responded to our customers' requests to provide a wide range of finance products and services with online functionality and user-friendly reporting tools and analysis."
During the roadshows Mr Stanistreet spoke about Toyota Fleet Management's ForceField Telematics product that tracks vehicle and driver behaviour to improve safety and efficiency while reducing fleet costs, and the recently introduced Car Sharing technology that improves the operational efficiency of fleets by making it easier to maximise the use of fleet or pool vehicles.
"ForceField Telematics and Car Sharing are the latest examples of Toyota Fleet Management developing quality products and services that prepare our customers for the future by making the task of fleet management much simpler and easier to navigate," Mr Stanistreet said.
Mr Stanistreet added that a large factor in TFM's strength is its partnership with Toyota.
"Globally Toyota leads the way in mapping the future of not just the automotive industry but the concept of mobility itself.
"Toyota was at the forefront of introducing hybrid technology which is now a mainstream power source, and it continues to set the pace by developing fuel-cell vehicles, electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles while remaining at the forefront of the development of automated driving technology and exploring the potential of car sharing.
"At our Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne roadshows we had Toyota's Mirai on display, the world's first mass-produced fuel cell sedan and 2016 World Green Car that runs on hydrogen instead of petrol or diesel and emits only water vapour.
"It represents a real turning point in the automotive industry, and Toyota Fleet Management will be heavily involved in introducing these vehicles and this ground-breaking technology to Australia in the near future.
"There is a lot of change happening, but we at Toyota Fleet Management and Toyota are leading the way to ensure that our valued customers are well and truly 'future ready'," Mr Stanistreet said.
